Goreans and their philosophy stem from the science fiction Gor series from author John Frederick Lange Jr, better known as John Norman.There are 26 books so far in the series, which takes place on Gor,a planet on the other side of our sun (counter Earth). I won't go into all the story details here. For that you could read this wiki article and move on from there should you feel inclined to do so.

The Gorean philosophy mentioned in the books center around the "natural order" of male female relationships where the male is naturally dominant and superior whereas the women are submissive and often become collared and live the rest of their lives as slaves with no rights.

This philosophy has carried over to real life with many Gorean societies arising all over the planet.

So basically that means that if you're a dominant woman, a sub male or ,God forbid, a switch, you will be shunned upon among the real life Goreans. From what i've read so far they have nothing but contempt for anyone who doesn't know their "real place, ie: male master/female slave.

They don't consider themselves to be a part of any BDSM community as for them this is a true lifestyle and the concept of play doesn't come into it one iota. Some in the BDSM community counter that they shouldn't be considered BDSM anyhow as they reject the 'safe, sane and consensual" motto as well as any form of safe word.

So is the Gorean lifestyle livable in today's world? Judging from all the forums and websites, it would seem that at least some think so. This woman however would beg to differ.

I wonder what Elise Sutton (a female supremacist, for those who didn't know) would say about this Gorean way of living? I'd love to hear her exact words on the subject. I guess we'll never really find out. We plan to post on her real soon by the way.
