Eric Stanton

stantoons.jpg Eric Stanton (30 September 1926 to 17 march 1999) was an American fetish illustrator and comic artist. He was born in New York and studied at the School of Visual Arts. His debut as a fetish illustrator began in 1947 with Irving Klaw, a publisher of S&M paraphernalia. From 1958 to 1966, Stanton began work in his which he created alongside comic artist Steve Ditko (who was co-creator of the Spiderman comics). For many years Eric Stanton became an independent illustrator and created custom work for his rich clients, whose private fantasies were varied. As compared to the many bondage and fetish artists of the era, Eric Stanton was unique in that he specialized in depicting women in the dominant role, though not exclusively. He will be dearly remembered for influencing the genre and his unique and memorable style will forever remain in millions of people's psyches.
